Vessel Walkthrough
Once Upon A Time can be boarded from either side, at a break in both handrails. There are Teak wing doors that lead from the sidewalks to the full beam aft deck. A ladder leads from the swim platform to the open sundeck. A double Teak door provides access to the interior cabin. Open steps lead to the bridge, which has access to the aft deck roof, for tender storage. The foredeck is easily accessible through aft deck wing doors on either side of the vessel and forward along sidewalks with well-placed handholds.
The interior includes an ensuite master stateroom aft, and a guest ensuite stateroom forward. There is also a full-service galley, a large dinette and a comfortable salon. The lower helm station is to starboard forward in the salon. The engine compartment can be accessed through removable hatches in the salon sole.
Aft Deck
The full-beam aft deck features a fiberglass hardtop cover with teak wing doors closing this area off the from the sidewalks. Open steps forward and offset to port allow easy access to the bridge, while double Teak doors along the centerline provide cabin access. Access to the swim platform is aft to starboard.
The swim platform features stainless steel handholds, Teak ladder steps, a fold-out swim ladder, a flag stanchion and a hand-held shower. Features of the aft deck include: free standing outdoor furniture, a storage deck box, lights, ceiling rod holders, rocket-launcher rod holders, and a non-skid surface. There is a wet bar with an Insignia refrigerator (June 2023). Storage includes a drawer, hatches over the wet bar, and a large storage cabinet.
Bridge
Open steps lead from the port side of the aft deck to the well-arranged flybridge, which has a non-skid surface. The bridge layout positions the helm forward and along the centerline with a molded captain's chair with footrest and a stainless steel ship's wheel. A fitted helm station cover provides protection. There is L-Shaped upholstered bench seating to starboard and aft, and an upholstered bench seat to port, with storage beneath. Additional storage is under the helm station. The bridge is fully enclosed. The enclosure was replaced in June 2024. The windscreen forward of the helm station has a crack.
The roof of the aft deck is accessible from the bridge. It features chocks for a tender, but no tender conveys with the vessel. A crane on the aft deck roof is available for positioning a tender on the roof for stowage. The radar arch is hinged, which makes Once Upon A Time very desirable for doing "The Loop".
Foredeck and Hull
The foredeck is safely and easily accessed from either side of the vessel through wing doors from the aft deck and onto sidewalks. These sidewalks allow side boarding of the vessel and also feature stainless steel railings, non-skid decking and stainless steel handrails. The foredeck includes: blue snap-on side window and windshield covers, low-mounted cabin top hand-hold railings, two double stainless steel fender storage racks, foredeck hatch to the forward stateroom, self-draining chain locker, electric windlass with foot controls, fiberglass bow pulpit with integrated anchor roller, an anchor rigged to the windlass, and a foredeck wash down spigot. There is also a storage deck box, a spotlight, and horns. The two 30amp cords can be plugged in on either the port or starboard sidewalks for convenience.
The bottom of Once Upon A Time has a white hull with blue trim. The bottom is cleaned regularly by a diver, but the bottom does need new paint.
